Savitri Bhavan

A centre grown around a single poem: Savitri, Sri Aurobindo's epic, studied here line by line. The Picture Gallery holds Huta's 'Meditations on Savitri' - canvases painted under the Mother's guidance to illustrate chosen passages - and around them sit a research library, photo exhibitions on Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, and a hall used for talks and film screenings. Office and exhibitions run Monday to Saturday, roughly 9am to 5pm, with occasional evening and Sunday events; entry is free. It stands on the walking route from the Visitors Centre to the Matrimandir viewing point.
