Purani Mandi

← Ajmer

AreaPurani Mandi, near Dargah Bazaar

The cloth end of the old market, a few lanes from the Dargah quarter (a dargah being the shrine that grows up around a Sufi master's grave). Rajasthani fabric, saris and dress material fill most of the frontage here, with Kasturi Silk Palace the address people name first, and embroidered pieces, scarves, bangles and stationery in the gaps between. Roughly 10:00 to 21:00. This is the part of Ajmer to walk if you want cloth by the metre and someone to cut it for you, rather than a finished souvenir.
