Off Halwai Gali beside Jama Masjid runs the old city's silk street: rows of shops stacked with sarees, dupattas and dress material at prices close to wholesale, and noticeably calmer than Kinari Bazaar next door, which is the reason to turn down it. Bargaining is still part of the transaction. Hours run roughly 11:00 to 21:00 and the street closes on Tuesdays, so plan around that. Jama Masjid and Mankameshwar Mandir are both within walking distance, and the three make one unhurried old-city loop.
