The tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, often called the "Baby Taj," is an elegant mausoleum on the bank of the Yamuna, built by Queen Nur Jahan for her father. It was here that marble inlay with semi-precious stones was first used in India on such a scale, the very techniques later perfected in the Taj Mahal.

It's the Taj's first sketch and forerunner in miniature: quieter, more intimate, almost free of crowds. For lovers of detail and history, it's a must.
